أوصيك يا بنيّ بالصّلاة عند وقتها، والزّكاة في أهلها عند محلّها، والصّمت عند الشّبهة، والاقتصاد والعدل في الرّضا والغضب، وحُسن الجوار، وإكرام الضّيف، ورحمة المجهود وأصحاب البلاء ، وصِلة الرّحم ، وحبّ المساكين ومجالستهم ، والتّواضع فإنّه من أفضل العبادة، وقصر الأمل ، واذكر الموت ، وازهد في الدّنيا فإنّك رهين موت ، وغرض بلاء، وطريح سقم . وأوصيك بخشية اللّه في سرّ أمرك وعلانيّتك، وأنهاك عن التّسرّع بالقول والفعل ، وإذا عرض شيء من أمر الآخرة فابدأ به ، وإذا عرض شيء من أمر الدّنيا فتأنّه حتّى تصيب رشدك فيه، وإيّاك ومواطن التّهمة والمجلس المظنون به السّوء، فإنّ قرين السّوء يغرّ جليسه.
